Where You Are At In Your Project
Now that your system has been designed and approved by an engineer, we need to acquire all necessary structural and building permits in order to legally install your solar array. We also submit an application to your electric utility company to set up Net Metering.
What You Need To Know About This Stage
This stage can take anywhere from a couple days to 10 weeks. This can be as frustrating for us as it is for you. We do everything we can to get city and county offices to process the permits more quickly however we are unfortunately at the mercy of those city and county offices

On Budget
On Time On Budget guarantee covers your back against any costs we incur that were NOT included in the contract. In other words, we won't come back to you later in the project and ask for more money. This happens on 1 out of every 8 projects and is a value of $1,500 on average to you!
Most Asked Questions During This Stage.
- How long will my project take?
-
Great Question! We guarantee that your system will be operational within 120 days following your site survey, 150 days for MidAmerican, Alliant and Holy Cross customers. If we are not able to make our deadline, we will take care of your monthly solar payments for you!
- How long until this stage is complete?
-
This stage can take anywhere from a few days to about 10 weeks.
- Why does this part of the project take so long?
-
We submit our application for all permits and net metering agreement as quickly as possible to prevent any unnecessary delays. City or county offices then have to go through their procedures before issuing the permits. We have zero input in how long that takes. We are invested in the process going as quickly as possible because of the On Time, On Budget Guarantee.
- What is Net Metering?
-
Net Metering is the process by which you are compensated for extra power you generate. Your system will often produce more power than your home needs to run anything, the extra power is sent back into the grid to power your neighbor's homes and businesses. You will be compensated with a credit on your power bill. To learn more about Net Metering, check out our blog!
